Leonard Mbonani

Leonard Mbonani is the full time coordinator for Kupenda for the children and is responsible for communicating between Kupenda Kenya and the US. He is responsible for the on the ground work in Kenya.

He started the first boarding facility in Gede for special needs children. He is trained in special needs education and has an incredible love for the disabled children of Kenya. He became impassioned about this field of work because he had witnessed children die from direct abuse or neglect because of their disability and was called by God to serve handicapped children. He believes that it is "not what you can take with you that counts but what you leave behind."

Leonard and his wife Janet (also a special needs educator) have five children and live in Gede, Kenya.
