Sponsor a Child

Sponsoring a child costs only $300 a year which is less than $25 a month and less than 84 cents a day. Kupenda for the children began because the founder was introduced to children who could not pay the fees to stay at the Kenya government established Gede special needs boarding facility. Most of the children sponsored by Kupenda stay at the Gede boarding facility because it is too far for them to walk back and forth from home to school and some are incapable of walking at all. There are a few children who attend higher level deaf schools and non deaf secondary schools that have boarding facilities. These are children who started at Gede. Boarding fees cover the cost of food, housemother salaries, and facility costs like electricity and water. When you sponsor a child, you ensure s/he receives everything covered by the aforementioned school fees.

If you would like to sponsor a child please send a check for $300 USD to "Kupenda for the children" along with the information requested below and a photo of yourself so your child can see you. You will then be sent a sponsor package with information on your sponsored child, photo, and how to communicate with your child. You can also sign up to automatically have a monthly contribution deducted from your account by signing up here

Currently the cost of physical therapy, emergency medical treatment, corrective surgery, assistance equipment and other needs are not covered by sponsorship. These are paid for from the Kupenda general fund.
