Annapolis-area Students Sponsor Bike-a-thon for Kupenda
On Sunday, October 25, 2009, the Annapolis Area Christian School (AACS) Junior Varsity (JV) Soccer Team will hold a bike-a-thon to raise money for Kupenda For The Children from 1 pm to 5 pm. The pre-set course is slightly more than a 10-mile loop around the BWI Trail.

Open to students on the JV soccer team who attend Annapolis Area Christian School in Annapolis, Maryland. Participants sign up sponsors to pledge a specific amount for each lap they ride their bikes. The general public is encouraged to sponsor and cheer on the AACS riders in support of Kupenda. All the funds generated by the event will be used to support Kupenda for the Children and its programs and services that support children with disabilities. Sponsors will be donating money for every mile that the player bikes. So for instance, if you donate $5 per mile and the player bikes 1 lap around the trail, then you would be giving $50. Payments can be made after the event. AACS JV Soccer Team is teaming up with Adventures for the Cure to provide this campaign that supports Kupenda. AFC is a non-profit organization that raises funds for worthy causes by means of 'adventure'.
Rob Irias, who is the team's head coach, is part of the AFC Men's Cycling Team so he has seen firsthand how AFC has helped the underprivileged worldwide. Rob stated, "We hope you consider giving and in doing so helping us understand the meaning of service."
